How to make a balanced meal out of something you can grab quickly.

It’s completely unrealistic to think that you’re always going to have time make Chicken and rice and broccoli. What’s more, I imagine you probably don’t want to always be eating chicken and rice and broccoli. So here is what you need for a quick grab snack that is both balanced and nutritious.

A Balanced meal will contain all the macronutrients, a protein source, a fat source and a carb source.

Some Idea’s for a protein source you can grab quickly include protein bars, protein shakes, Greek yogurt, Lunch meat and beef jerky.

Some idea’s for Fat sources that you can grab quickly are half an avocado, Nut butter, nuts, olives and cheese.

Some ideas for a quick carb source are Whole grain bread, tortillas, fruit and veggies.

Now let’s make it balanced, Ideally your carb source will fit in with your goals. For example, if you want to lose weight, fruits and veggies are probably the way to go with your carb source, but if you’re grabbing a quick snack to head the to the gym and your goal is to gain muscle, I’d lean towards bread, tortillas or potatoes.

A Great snack for someone looking to lose weight might be A protein shake with cheese and some black berries.

A Great snack for someone looking to gain muscle might be a tortilla with peanut butter and bananas or a cheese and turkey roll up in a tortilla.
